Durban – Veteran Odwa Ndungane has returned to the starting XV in one of four changes made by the Sharks for their Currie Cup clash against the Blue Bulls at Kings Park in Durban on Saturday.
The Springbok back, who started as fullback in the first two matches of the campaign before sustaining a hamstring injury, comes in on the right wing ahead of Sizo Maseko.
The three other changes are all rotational with Cobus Reinach starting at scrumhalf ahead of Charl McLeod, Peet Marais in for Edwin Hewitt at lock and hooker Craig Burden winning his first start of the season in place of Kyle Cooper.
“There are tough selection quandaries,” Sharks forwards coach Brad Macleod-Henderson said. “You want to give guys chances but you also don’t want to break momentum.
“You have to get the balance right and if you get the result, then you probably did get it right.”
The Sharks were second on the log after two wins from their opening three matches, while the Bulls were last following a draw, one victory and a loss from their three games.
The Sharks team is: SP Marais, Odwa Ndungane, Louis Ludik, Heimar Williams, Lwazi Mvovo, Fred Zeilinga, Cobus Reinach, Jacques Botes (captain), Jean Deysel, Keegan Daniel, Marco Wentzel, Peet Marais, Wiehahn Herbst, Craig Burden, Dale Chadwick.
Replacements: Kyle Cooper, Rayno Gerber, Edwin Hewitt, Justin Downey, Charl McLeod, Butch James, Jaco van Tonder.– Sapa
