Cape Town - The Springboks run out at Newlands on Saturday with Australia firmly in their sights and the chance of setting up a grudge Rugby Championship decider against world champions New Zealand on the horizon.
The Boks will mark the occasion with a number of milestones, with flyhalf Morne Steyn and prop Jannie du Plessis playing their 50th Test match, while it will also be the 50th time the Springboks have played a Test at Newlands.
“They are two great servants to Springbok rugby and two great players,” Springbok captain Jean de De Villiers said yesterday.
Proteas skipper Graeme Smith handed out the Springbok jerseys on Friday.
Springbok fans will also be hoping winger Bryan Habana is able to dot down as that will see him equal the tournament record of 16 tries, currently held by All Black Christian Cullen, while at the same time extending his Bok record of 51 Test tries.
