Durban – Winger Cornal Hendricks will make his Springbok debut against Wales after being included in the starting XV for the first Test in Durban on Saturday.

Cheetahs teammate and lock Lood de Jager, the other uncapped player in the match 23, will play off the bench.

Bulls centre Jan Serfontein replaced Frans Steyn in the midfield following the 47-13 win over the World XV last weekend.

Steyn announced his sudden withdrawal from the squad on Tuesday.

In a surprise move, France-based prop Gurthro Steenkamp was picked ahead of Tendai Mtawarira and will win his 50th cap at Kings Park.

In the other backline change from the past weekend, Fourie du Preez was named ahead of Ruan Pienaar at scrumhalf. – Sapa
