Johannesburg - Junior Springbok skipper Handre Pollard, who is playing in his third IRB World Cup, believes the team that is perfect in set pieces will be crowned champions on Friday.

“I know how 2012 was won. We had 17 lineouts and we won all 17 of them. It is something you can't go without in a final, the set piece,” Pollard said ahead of the final against England at Eden Park, Auckland, New Zealand.

“The conversion rate is also crucial. You have to get down there and get points, whether it is three, five or seven - just get points whenever you go down to the opposition's half.”

Not only is Pollard the leading points scorer at this year's competition, but he is the all-time top points scorer.

Junior Springbok coach Dawie Theron was wary of the threat their opposition, England, posed in their quest to international glory.

“They are a good side and have progressed to the final without losing a match. It's going to be a titanic battle,” he said.

The final will be preceded by the third place play-off between New Zealand and Ireland.

The fifth place final between France and Australia will be the first contest of the day at Eden Park, with the other positional games being played at QBE Stadium in North Harbour.
