Johannesburg - The verdict in the citing of Welsh prop Samson Lee was deferred on Saturday and is expected to be announced mid-week, the SA Rugby Union said on Sunday.

Judicial officer Christopher Quinlan, QC (England), is considering an incident that took place during the Test between Wales and South Africa at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday.

Tighthead prop Lee was cited by commissioner James Absaloms of Kenya for breaching law 10.4 (a) - striking or punching an opponent - after he allegedly struck South African lock Flip van der Merwe with his head.

The alleged incident happened in the 15th minute of the second half of the match.

South Africa won the match 31-30.
