Johannesburg – Deon Stegmann has been declared fit and available for selection ahead of the Bulls' Super Rugby match against the Blues at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday, the union said on Monday.

Stegmann suffered a groin strain early in the Bulls' warm-up match against the Stormers late January in Polokwane and was kept on the sidelines while he recovered.

Team doctor Org Strauss said the player would take part in the Bulls training session this week.

Jono Ross (contusion quad) and Frik Kirsten (back) were not cleared to train, while Jessie Kriel (calf) and Travis Ismaiel (hip) would join the rest of the squad on Tuesday.

Pierre Spies (arm, six months) and Arno Botha (knee, five months) were the only two long-term casualties, the Bulls said in a statement. – Sapa
