Johannesburg – Sharks centre Francois Steyn has been cited for an alleged dangerous tackle on Kurtley Beale in their 32-10 victory over the Waratahs at Kings Park in Durban on Saturday.
Match referee Mike Fraser awarded a penalty for the incident which occurred in the 24th minute.
“Upon further review of the match footage, the citing commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the red card threshold for foul play,” Sanzar said in a statement on Sunday.
“The citing is to be considered in the first instance by Sanzar duty judicial officer Jannie Lubbe SC.” – Sapa
