Johannesburg – Duane Vermeulen has signed with french club Toulon for the next three seasons.

Toulon, club president Mourad Boudjellal confirmed the move on Monday. The Springbok number eight would be joining Ireland international lock Paul O’Connell and England prop Matt Stevens who were also signed for the French giants.

Vermeulen has battled with neck spasm in the last 10 days, but passed a medical at Toulon.

Toulon has already recruited Salesi Ma’afu, Anthony Etrillard, Samu Manoa, Charles Ollivon Jonathan Pelissie, Ma’a Nonu, Quade Cooper and Thibault Lassalle, James O’Connor and Julien Caminati. - ANA
