Johannesburg – Steve Walsh will referee the 2012 Super Rugby Final between the Chiefs and the Sharks in Hamilton, New Zealand on Saturday.
“Steve thoroughly deserves this appointment to the final, having been arguably our most consistent performer in the middle, throughout this competition,” said Sanzar game manager Lyndon Bray, in a statement on Monday.
“Steve is in great form and he will contribute to what should be an outstanding final.”
Walsh also refereed the 2007 Super 14 final between the Sharks and the Bulls in Durban.
The Australian will be assisted by South African Craig Joubert and New Zealander Keith Brown, while Garratt Williamson will be the television match official. – Sapa
