French Top 14 side Bordeaux-Begles announced on Tuesday that they had signed Kobus van Wyk as an emergency replacement for injured full-back Darly Domvo.

The 24-year-old has been playing for The Stormers for the last two seasons, and was part of the South Africa team that won the Under-20 world championships in 2012.

The versatile back, who can play at centre or on the wing, made 30 appearances and scored nine tries for the Stormers.

Only last week he scored a try in the Currie Cup for the Western Province against the Cheetahs.

Van Wyk comes in to bolster a Bordeaux squad currently missing Domvo through injury, Australian winger Adam Ashley-Cooper who is away on international duty, as well as the suspended Fijian Met Talebula.
