Argentina were dealt a blow before this weekend's match against France with news that veteran Felipe Contepomi has been ruled out for up to four months with a knee ligament injury.

The 35-year-old Contepomi sustained the injury in the 14th minute of Argentina's 26-12 victory over Wales on Saturday.

His club Stade Francais confirmed to AFP that the playmaker “would be out for between three and four months”.

Contepomi had been recalled to Test duty having missed the Pumas' inaugural southern hemisphere Rugby Championship campaign, but will play no further in his team's November tour that sees them play France in Lille before going on to Ireland. – AFP
