SEOUL, South Korea – South Africa will face Italy in the group stages of the 2017 Fifa Under-20 World Cup, to be held in South Korea from May 20 to June 11.
The groups for the tournament were announced on Wednesday, with Uruguay and Japan also grouped together with Amajita and the Azzurri.
South Africa qualified for the tournament by reaching the semi-finals of the recently-concluded U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Zambia, where they finished fourth after losing the third/fourth place play-off to Guinea.
