More problems appear to have hit an already troubled Bafana camp with the news that players had not been paid their daily allowances.

Senior members of the squad complained yesterday that they had still to receive a R500 daily allowance leading up to the weekend’s World Cup qualifier against Botswana.

But SA Football Association chief executive Robin Peterson said the players had been paid up to date with regards to their daily allowances, but there were outstanding bonuses expected to be paid by the end of the current camp, which concludes with Friday’s friendly against Gabon.

Besides the daily allowances, players receive R60 000 for a win and R40 000 for a draw. – Sports Staff
