At halftime, Morocco were leading South Africa 1-0 with the goal coming from Issam El Adoua inside 10 minutes.
In the other group A game, Angola were leading Cape Verde 1-0.
South Africa can qualify for the quarter-finals with all three results – a win, draw and even a loss – although they will also need the Angolans to either beat or share the spoils with Cape Verde Islands.
