Zwane in Bafana squad for Down Under trip

Johannesburg – Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder Themba Zwane is the only new face in Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund's squad to face Australia and New Zealand in two international friendlies in May.

The national team added a second match, against New Zealand, to their trip down under, where they will play a farewell match in Sydney before the Socceroos go to Brazil for the 2014 Fifa World Cup.

Bafana will travel to Sydney on May 22 ahead of the Australia encounter on May 26, before heading to Auckland for their May 30

clash against the All Whites.

“It's always exciting going to play matches. I've got a nicely balanced squad,” Igesund said at the SA Football Association's headquarters on Tuesday.

South Africa squad: Goalkeepers: Itumeleng Khune, Ronwen Williams.

Defenders: Thabo Nthethe, Buhle Mkhwanazi, Tsepo Masilela, Anele Ngcongca, Thabo Matlaba, Siyanda Xulu.

Midfielders: Andile Jali, Oupa Manyisa, Bongani Zungu, Themba Zwane, Thulani Serero, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Kagisho Dikgacoi, Ayanda Patosi.

Strikers: Bernard Parker, Tokelo Rantie. – Sapa
