Kinshasa - Democratic Republic of Congo have withdrawn as candidates to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) without giving a reason.

Congolese officials said a five-day visit by a Confederation of African Football fact-finding team scheduled for July had been cancelled.

Algeria, Cameroon, Guinea, Ivory Coast and Zambia are the other candidates to host the 2019 tournament with a decision due this September.

Morocco will stage the 2015 Cup of Nations followed by Libya two years later.
