Pretoria - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane guided his team to the CAF Champions League semifinals this week and he was predictably pleased to have done it.

The Brazilians beat Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek 1-0 in Atteridgeville thanks to an own-goal by Ali Gabr.

“We could have scored more, we ended up enjoying the game more than trying to score but it's also good to enjoy the game, to have confidence on the ball and they dominated,” Mosimane said afterwards.

Gabr put the ball in his own net after a cross by substitute Percy Tau in the final 15 minutes.

“Percy is always a game-changer, but I'm happy with everyone,” the coach said.

“Teko (Modise) especially because he didn't allow them to press us on the ball with the way he spread all the passes, it was very good. “We got what we wanted, we got the three points, we dominated the game, and by the way we played Zamalek. So it's good.”

Mosimane was also full of praise for the Sundowns fans, who came out to support them despite the inclement weather across South Africa. He added: “It's good, they are here, they are supporting us, they are brave, chilly weather but they are okay, so it's good, we just have a good momentum.” - African News Agency (ANA)
