Munich – Arjen Robben has extended his contract with Champions League title holder Bayern Munich until 2017.

Wednesday's extension means Robben will stay in Bayern for another three seasons. The Netherlands winger’s current contract was set to expire at the end of the next season.

Robben scored the deciding goal for Bayern in the 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final last season, when Bayern completed an unprecedented treble for the club by also taking the Bundesliga and the German Cup.

Bayern is on track to win all three trophies again this season and could clinch the Bundesliga title this weekend.

The 30-year-old Robben is in his fifth season with Bayern.

He says he is having “incredible fun” with Bayern and is looking forward “to many more titles”. – Sapa-AP
