Balotelli will play again – Mancini

Balotelli_Mancini3 AFP Mario Balotelli has accepted a fine of two weeks' wages from Manchester City after withdrawing his appeal against disciplinary action taken against him by the Premier League champions.

London – Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says striker Mario Balotelli will get more chances to play despite trying to take the club to a tribunal in a dispute over unpaid fines.

Balotelli was fined two weeks' wages – around £340,000 – for his poor disciplinary record last season, when he missed 11 matches through suspension.

The Italian eventually decided not to go to a tribunal and the BBC on Friday quoted Mancini as saying he will get more chances to play, although he will miss Saturday's clash with Reading through sickness.

“Mario is unlucky he is ill this week,” Mancini said.

“It is normal when someone makes a mistake he should take responsibility and Mario did this. It's important for him to respect himself. I am his manager and if he deserves another chance I give him another chance.” – Sapa-dpa
