London – Manchester City are considering a January move for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
Roberto Mancini wants to offload Mario Balotelli to make room for the Premier League’s hottest striker.
Suarez has carried Liverpool this season, scoring 11 goals and Mancini would like to recruit him. Prising the 24-year-old away from Anfield would come at a cost though – £50million would be a realistic valuation – and talks would be complex.
Liverpool’s stance has not changed since the summer when they saw off interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus. They gave Suarez a major improvement on his contract, extending it to 2017 and putting him on a par with the club’s top earners.
The Uruguay star has bought into manager Brendan Rodgers’ vision but will want to play in the Champions League.
