Liverpool Luis Suarez is available to play his side's league clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
Kenny Dalglish believes Liverpool’s season is poised to take a significant leap forward as he prepares to unleash a combination that has been 12 months in the making.
Since Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez arrived at Anfield last January, injuries and suspensions have meant the pair have yet to start a game with Steven Gerrard – and the three have only been on the pitch at the same time for a total of 69 minutes.
Now, though, all issues have been banished and Dalglish is considering launching his much-vaunted trio into Monday’s clash with Tottenham at Anfield.
Suarez is available after serving an eight-match ban for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra; Gerrard is fit, having being rested for last week’s trip to Wolves; and Carroll has finally started to capture some form. “I look forward to them having a run in the team together,” said Liverpool boss Dalglish. “I didn’t know Stevie, Luis and Andy have played so infrequently together. It is positive that we have that to look forward to and they are looking better.”
Inevitably, Suarez will be the subject of much scrutiny. Yet there is no certainty Dalglish will give the immediate recall that many anticipate, given the results Liverpool have enjoyed in the past fortnight. “There is a lot to be taken into consideration,” said Dalglish. “The way the other boys have played without him and the fact he’s not played for a month will also be taken into consideration. After five or six weeks out it’s not automatic someone will come straight back into the team.”
Tottenham pulverised Liverpool at White Hart Lane in September and avenging that 4-0 defeat will likely mean finding a way to stop Spurs winger Gareth Bale — something his captain Ledley King believes is easier said than done.
King said: “Gareth’s brilliant — a top, top player and one of the best around at the moment. He’s unstoppable when he’s in full flow. You know he’s going to get the ball, knock it and run past players.
“As defenders we can sit back late on, he picks the ball up in our half and just takes off. It’s great for the other players in the team.”
Kickoff: 8pm, Anfield.
TV: LIVE on Sky Sports 1, 7pm.

@Su, Let us not forget that, the Creator who designs us, does that without consulting us. How HE designs some parts of our bodies, is no choice of ours. To pick on the 'design' of the ear of Suarez, I find it provoking or even insulting. Now that Suarez has been a subject of some controversy does not give anyone a right to pick on him for things he did not deliberately bring upon himself. Respect to another human being is respect to God who created us all.
