Real Madrid believe they have first refusal to sign Gareth Bale next summer but will test Tottenham’s resolve with a £33million bid in January.
Spurs insist they will reject all offers for the Wales star next month, with manager Andre Villas-Boas adamant it is ‘completely impossible’ Bale will leave the club, but are braced for further offers at the end of the season.
Spanish newspaper Marca reported Real have set aside £56m to lure Bale to the Bernabeu with a lucrative, long-term contract and will offer £33m for the winger next month.
The 23-year-old will remain Madrid’s No 1 target, even if coach Jose Mourinho leaves the club at the end of the season. – Daily Mail
