Bacary Sagna is the latest Arsenal star heading for a long-running contract dispute.

Initial discussions over an extension of the France international’s deal are believed to have stalled.

His current contract expires at the end of next season, but Arsene Wenger is keen to tie his first-choice right back down.

Sagna wants an increase on his current £60,000-per-week deal.

The 29-year-old is the latest Gunner whose future has come under scrutiny due to a disagreement over contracts.

Robin van Persie and Alex Song both left in the summer after failing to agree fresh terms, while Theo Walcott’s future is in the balance due to a contract dispute.

Sagna recently launched a scathing attack on the club, saying: ‘Everyone was expecting Robin van Persie to leave, but Alex Song — that was a surprise. I don’t understand that at all. ‘It is a big loss for the club. When you see two of the best players from last season leave, you ask a lot of questions.

‘I understand why the supporters are nervous. I am the only starting player left from 2007.’ – Daily Mail
