Robin van Persie looks set to join Manchester United.
Manchester United were on Tuesday night in talks with Arsenal over an improved offer they hope will clinch the deal to sign Robin van Persie.
Daily Mail exclusively revealed yesterday how the Gunners were expecting a new bid, with sources claiming the move could be sealed by Saturday’s kick-off.
United’s increased offer is likely to be close to Arsenal’s minimum £20 million price.
One deal United are set to complete is the £4m move for Chilean striker Angelo Henriquez, who had a medical on Tuesday.
Daily Mail revealed in June that United had secured first option on Henriquez, 18, until 2014 but Sir Alex Ferguson decided to fast-track the deal with his club Universidad de Chile when several rivals began showing an interest.
The teenager, who has been on United’s radar for three years and has had two trial spells at Carrington, had his medical in Manchester.
Darren Fletcher, who was forced to take a break from football because of a career-threatening stomach condition, made his first United appearance in nine months last night.
