London – Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of signing Argentina defender Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon.
Reports on Tuesday said the full-back had told Argentinian radio station, Continental, that he was a United player, describing it as a dream move.
“It's a dream to play at Manchester United and I am very proud of having the chance of working with (Louis) van Gaal,” Rojo said.
“I spoke with Juan Sebastian Veron about Manchester United when we were at Estudiantes. I have always liked English football, and I should adapt to this new playing style easily.”
United are reported to have offered around 16 million pounds (26 million dollars), plus winger Nani on a season-long loan. – Sapa-dpa
