London - Jurgen Klopp has called for Liverpool to heal the rift with their fans over ticket prices as the club owners prepare to scrap plans for huge increases next season.

The club’s American owners Fenway Sports Group were so shocked by the scenes when 10,000 fans walked out in the 77th minute of Saturday’s draw with Sunderland that they have spent the last 48 hours in frantic transatlantic discussions over what to do next.

Liverpool boss Klopp, who was not at Anfield because he was having an appendix operation, said: ‘It was a sign and I think it was easy to understand. Now we look for a solution.’
