CAPE TOWN - Ajax Cape Town have “parted ways” with Sameehg Doutie just one month after re-signing the midfielder on a short team deal.

Doutie returned to the club in January after two season with Indian Super League club Atletico de Kolkata and was meant to stay until the end of the current campaign.

However, on Friday the club announced his departure in a short post in its website.

“Ajax Cape Town Football Club and Sameehg Doutie have today, Friday 24 February, officially agreed to amicably part ways,” the post stated.

“Ajax Cape Town would like to wish Mr Doutie all of the best in his future endeavours and thank him for his service to the Urban Warriors.”

Doutie, 27, joined Ajax as a nine-year-old and made his first team debut in 2007. He went on to play for Orlando Pirates, SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits before departing for India.

The post did not mention whether he would return to Atletico de Kolkata or join a different club.
