Durban - Liberia international midfielder Dulee Johnson has been sacked by AmaZulu after a breach of contract, the club announced on Monday.
“AmaZulu have decided to terminate the contract of midfielder Dulee Johnson due to the player’s breach of contract,” a statement from AmaZulu said.
“The Liberian’s two-year contract was terminated with immediate effect after a disciplinary committee, led by marketing manager Lunga Sokhela, found the player to be in serious breach.”
The 27-year-old, who spent most of his career in Europe, was less than five months into his deal after joining as a free agent in July.
Johnson was initially brought in as a replacement for Bafana
Bafana midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni, who left in a big money move to Mamelodi Sundowns during the off-season.
However, paperwork problems delayed Johnson's debut, before he eventually went on to make six appearances for the club.
According to the club, disciplinary procedures against Johnson had been ongoing but they refused to give further details. - Sapa
