The Extra Strong team previews round three of the PSL, which is taking place Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tonight

Orlando Pirates v Cape Town City

@ Orlando Stadium, 730pm

The big story of this match is obviously about Eric Tinkler returning to face the Buccaneers’ since he left them. How will Orlando receive the man they loved to hate? Pirates are top of the table with a perfect record from two matches and Tendai Ndoro will be hard to stop.

Last Season: DNP

Prediction: Pirates 2 City 0

Ajax Cape Town v Polokwane City

@ Cape Town Stadium, 7.30pm

The Urban Warriors welcome bottom-placed Polokwane City and should fancy their chances. Roger de Sa’s men will still be reeling from the loss to Pirates in a match they could have at least got a draw.

Last Season: Ajax 2 City 1

Prediction: Ajax 1 City 0

Baroka FC v Bidvest Wits

@ New Peter Mokaba Stadium

Having secured a spot in the MTN8 final, the Clever Boys make yet another trip to the Limpopo capital. Wits drew goalless with Polokwane City last Tuesday but Gavin Hunt had rested most of his key players in that match. He’s unlikely to do that though against Baroka, who are struggling to cope in the elite league.

Last Season: DNP

Prediction: Wits 2 Baroka 1

Wednesday

Free State Stars v Golden Arrows

@ Goble Park

Ea Lla Koto are yet to win this season and while they will be at home, Abafana Bes’thende should prove too powerful. The contrast between the two sides couldn’t be more stark - Arrows having clearly laid a solid foundation last season, while Stars have been hit hard by the pre-season uncertainty about their status that saw them lose the core of their squad.

Last Season: Stars 1 Arrows 3

Prediction: Stars 0 Arrows 2

Maritzburg United v SuperSport United

@ Harry Gwala Stadium

Ernst Middendorp was very unhappy with his team after they failed to beat a Sundowns team that was there for the taking last week. The German coach would have used the past week to make his team realise they cannot be fighting for survival once again. That could be bad news for a SuperSport team struggling to get going.

Last Season: Maritzburg 1 SuperSport 2

Prediction: Maritzburg 2 SuperSport 1

Highlands Park v Kaizer Chiefs

@ Makhulong Stadium

They filled the stadium for Highlands Park’s Premiership debut last weekend. And with the Lions of the North having won that clash against Baroka, Makhulong could well be too small for Amakhosi’s visit. Chiefs and their coach, Steve Komphela are in all sorts of trouble and things won’t get any better.

Last Season: DNP

Prediction: Highlands 1 Chiefs 1
