Johannesburg - Former Kaizer Chiefs player-turned-television presenter Isaac 'Shakes' Kungwane has died aged 43 after being admitted to hospital, Supersport said on Wednesday.

“We are all stunned and saddened by this awful news,” SuperSport's head of production Alvin Naicker said in a statement.

“Shakes brought vitality, knowledge and understanding to his role at SuperSport.

“He was adored by everyone. This is a sad day for football lovers who will recall Shakes for his wizardry on the ball.”

Kungwane began his career at Jomo Cosmos FC in 1990, moved to Kaizer Chiefs and retired in 2002. He had latterly become a highly regarded football analyst on SuperSport.
