Johannesburg - Golden Arrows on Friday confirmed the signing of Bafana Bafana midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi.

Dikgacoi left English Championship side Cardiff City at the end of last season following continued struggles with injury. The 31-year-old spent the last few weeks training with Arrows before coach Clinton Larsen had recommended to management that the player be signed.

The joint Premiership log-leaders confirmed the signing on their website. “Abafana Bes'thende are happy to announce the signing of Kagisho Dikgacoi. “We are pleased that we have secured the services of KG, he has had vast experience both internationally and as a representative for Bafana Bafana.

“His knowledge and insight into the game will be priceless. He is a natural leader and a number fo the younger players look up to him, and we are sure that he will mentor them.”

The player had turned out for Arrows from 2005 to 2009 before moving abroad and now returns to the club which allowed his career to blossom.

“Having previously played for Abafana Bes'thende before moving overseas where he played for clubs such as Fulham, Crytal Palace and Cardiff City, both he and the club are excited to have him home and back in the green and gold strips.

“We would like to welcome KG back to the club and look forward to an enjoyable partnership with him.”
