JOHANNESBURG – Highlands Park FC have parted ways with coach Gordon Igesund with Les Grobler set to take over the position, the club confirmed on Sunday.

Club director Sinky Mnisi confirmed the development.

“Look, from the team’s point of view, I am confirming that we have parted ways with Gordon,” Mnisi said.

“The board of directors took a decision on Saturday (a day after a home defeat against Bidvest Wits) after realising that desired results are not coming.

“It seems that players are not responding to his methods – hence we are not getting positive results.”

Highlands Park fell back to the foot of the Premiership table after a 2-0 defeat to Wits in Tembisa on Friday as they have just 22 points from 26 matches.
