Highlands Park jumped out of the relegation zone after Collins Mbesuma struck penalty to give his side a 1-0 win over Chippa United on Friday night.

With just two more games to go before their campaign comes to an end, the Tembisa outfit will hope to produce a similar type of performance when they take on Baroka FC next Wednesday at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The first half turned out to be a dull affair on Friday night at the Makhulong Stadium as both sides tried to unlock each others’ defensive third.

Neither side, though, had luck in that department as they both lacked the required creative spark to achieve that desired objective.

In the second period, the Lions of the North approached the half with more aggression and verve in an attempt to find an early lead.

That goal came when their striker Mbesuma rocketed home a powerful shot into the back of the net after they were awarded a penalty just 10 minutes into the second half.

The Chilli Boys huffed and puffed, but couldn’t come back from that lead, as the home side kept matters clean at the back.
