Kaizer Chiefs have denied wooing football superstar David Beckham amid rife speculation over his next move after leaving Los Angeles Galaxy.
“I don't know where that story comes from. We don't even have Beckham's contacts,” Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung told AFP Thursday.
The ex-England, Manchester United and Real Madrid player, 37, said he is looking for “one more challenge as a player”, but has not decided where. Next month's Major League Soccer Cup final will be his last game for Galaxy.
Johannesburg-based Chiefs, which currently tops the national league, was touted as one of the clubs bidding for the star. – AFP
