Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs have signed 19-year-old striker Ryan Moon from Maritzburg United, and AmaKhosi coach Steve Komphela predicts a bright future for the new acquisition. “Ryan is one for the future, he will give us options as a striker and on the flanks,” said Komphela.

“He played a few games for Maritzburg towards the end of last season and watching his play, he ticks all the boxes. He has strong qualities and with proper integration into the Chiefs way, he will bring value to the team. Moon was optimistic about his future at the Soweto Giants. “I am excited and over the moon to be joining a big club like Chiefs,” said Moon.

“I am honoured to be part of this exciting brand. The facilities here are amazing and this will help take my game to the next level.”

The Amakhosi also announced the promotion central defender Siyabonga Ngezana. The 19-year-old follows the promotion of Chiefs' Youth Development, striker Emmanuel Letlotlo. “Siya is a product of our development structures,” said Komphela.

“We are happy with his progress and we are bringing him to the first team to feel the exact pressure. He is strong and has a good chance to develop into a fine player.”

Itumeleng Khune, Lucky Baloyi, Hendrick Ekstein and Lorenzo Gordinho are all also products of Chiefs' Youth Development structures.
