At last! Kaizer Chiefs have made a move in the transfer market by signing Dumisani Zuma from Bloemfontein Celtic on Thursday.

The 22-year-old Zuma was believed to be in a contractual dispute with Phunya Sele Sele, but was eventually allowed to join the Amakhosi on a three-year deal.

The Chiefs website says Zuma is someone who can operate on either wing, or even behind the strikers. And the man himself says he wants to create a turnaround in fortunes for Steve Komphela’s charges.

“I promise the supporters that I want to help Chiefs win trophies this coming season,” Zuma told the Chiefs website. “It’s a great feeling to be at Chiefs and to have trained with the squad for the first time this morning.

“My whole family supports Kaizer Chiefs – my parents, my one brother, my grandmother and my aunt.”

Zuma made his Bafana debut in the Chan qualifier against Botswana recently, and hails from Pietermaritzburg.

He said some of his Chiefs heroes include David Mathebula, Gert Schalkwyk, Gerard Sibeko and Kaizer Motaung.

“I loved above all Mathebula and Schalkwyk, because they used to create chances to make the team play. That’s what I like to do as well.”
