It’s taken a while for Lehlohonolo Majoro to find his groove in the Mother City, but the former Orlando Pirates hitman finally came good at the weekend as he bagged a double in Cape Town City’s 3-0 win over struggling Baroka FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

As a result, Majoro returns to our Team of the Week to make up the dream side next to a consistent performer in Mamelodi Sundowns’ Percy Tau, who didn’t get on the score-sheet away to Platinum Stars and at home to Bidvest Wits, but chipped in with assists.

Majoro was not the only player to score twice in the recent round of Absa Premiership games – Gerald Phiri and Buhle Mkhwanazi, unlikely scorers, helped Platinum Stars and Wits, respectively, in big wins on Sunday and in midweek fixtures.

Phiri stepped up to drill home two well-taken free kicks when Dikwena thumped Bloemfontein Celtic 3-0, while Mkhwanazi twice found pockets of space behind the Baroka defence in the Clever Boys’ 5-0 win over the relegation-threatened outfit last Wednesday.

Oh, and then there was SuperSport United’s newboy Mandla Masango. Having recently returned from a spell in Denmark, the winger opened his account for Matsatsantsa in their come-from-behind 4-1 win at home to Maritzburg United on the same night Wits thrashed Baroka.
