Johannesburg – Lehlohonolo Majoro is likely to transfer from Kaizer Chiefs to Orlando Pirates, the player's agent confirmed on Thursday.
“Majoro will be joining Orlando Pirates football club, most likely in this transfer window, provided that Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates reach an agreement regarding his immediate release,” Majoro's agent Tim Sukazi said in a statement.
“Otherwise, he is well set to join the Orlando Club upon the expiration of his current contract.”
Earlier this month, SuperSport United said on social networking website Twitter that it had signed a long-term contract with the Bafana Bafana international. Three days later, United withdrew its offer for the striker because the player had signed a pre-contract with Pirates.
“This therefore means that all questions regarding him having signed a pre-contract with Pirates have now become theoretical,” Sukazi said.
“This notwithstanding, current indications are that Majoro will don the famous black and white jersey in no time from now onwards.”
Majoro confirmed late last year he was looking for a move away from Chiefs, due to a lack of regular game time. The striker had since been linked to Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Majoro made 70 appearances for Amakhosi since joining from AmaZulu in 2011, scoring 20 goals along the way.
His contract with Chiefs was set to expire in June 2014, making him available to sign a pre-contract for another club. – Sapa
