Johannesburg - SuperSport United's new signing Tefu Mashamaite says it is an honour joining the club which has achieved so much in South African football.

The 31-year-old lifted a trophy in his first season in Europe before deciding to come back home to don the blue and white of Matsatsantsa.

“When the opportunity presented itself for me to come back home I did not think twice, I jumped at the opportunity to team up with my former coach. “I am thrilled at the prospect of playing in the Absa Premiership again and look forward to adding value to the team.” Mashamaite will don the number two jersey during his first season with Matsatsantsa.

The former Kaizer Chiefs and Bidvest Wits defender joins from Swedish club, Hacken FC, where he spent one season. He was voted Footballer of the Season, Players Player of the Season and Defender of the Season in the season before his departure after helping Chiefs win the Absa Premiership title. - African News Agency (ANA)
