Johannesburg - Bidvest Wits, winners of the season-opening MTN8, dominate the Team of the Week after their 3-0 thrashing of Mamelodi Sundowns.

Daine Klate was the chief architect of that demolition.

The 31-year-old has been reborn in his new role as a second striker where he makes a lot of box entries.

He scored a brace to win his umpteenth trophy.

It was, however, the first trophy for Eleazar Rodgers who scored the other goal. The lanky forward had lost two cup finals before, with Sundowns and Platinum Stars.

He capped what has been a good two weeks with a winners medal just after he was included in the Bafana Bafana squad that takes on Burkina Faso in the start of the World Cup qualifiers. While Rodgers and Klate found the goals, Xola Mlambo and Thabang Monare helped the Clever Boys keep their shape.

Darren Keet is holding on to the No 1 jersey he took from Moeneeb Josephs.

He kept a clean sheet to be a part of the defence that has Diamond Thopola, Thulani Hlatshwayo, Justice Chabalala and Sifiso Hlanti.

Team:

Goalkeeper: Darren Keet (Wits)

Rigthback: Diamond Thopola (Chippa)

Centerbacks: Thulani Hlatshwayo (Wits), Justice Chabalala (Pirates)

Leftback: Sifiso Hlanti (Wits)

Central midfielders: Xola Mlambo (Wits) Thabang Monare (Wits)

Leftwing: Brendon Theron (Highlands)

Strikers: Eleazar Rodgers, Daine Klate (both Wits)
