Azarenka still tops women’s rankings

Berlin – Victoria Azarenka stays top of the women's tennis rankings released Monday at the start of the 2013 season.

The Belarussian remains on 10 595 points ahead of Russia's Maria Sharapova, who is unchanged on 10 045, and Serena Williams of the United States, who improves slightly to 9 750.

China's Li Na meanwhile moves up a place to sixth, while Sara Erani of Italy slips to seventh.

2. (2) Maria Sharapova, Russia, 10,045
