Tomas Berdych's victory over Janko Tipsarevic at the Paris Masters on Thursday earned him a place at the ATP Tour Finals and completed the line-up for the year-end event in London later this month.
Paris – Tomas Berdych's victory over Janko Tipsarevic at the Paris Masters on Thursday earned him a place at the ATP Tour Finals and completed the line-up for the year-end event in London later this month.
Berdych, the Czech fifth seed, won 7-5, 6-4 against Serbian 11th seed Tipsarevic to reach the quarter-finals at Bercy Arena.
His win also means that Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and American No 1 Mardy Fish are now guaranteed a spot at the ATP Tour Finals event at London's O2 Arena from November 20-27.
Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Roger Federer and David Ferrer had already qualified for the season-ending tournament, which features the eight top-ranked players in the world.
Federer claimed his fifth title at last year's event, defeating Nadal in three sets in the final.– Sapa-AFP
