Bad Gastein, Austria – France's Alize Cornet won the second title of her career on the clay here at Bad Gastein on Sunday, beating Belgium's world number 37 Yanina Wickmayer in straight sets 7-5, 7-6 (7/1).

The 22-year-old from Nice, ranked 73rd in the world, has produced her best results on clay in the past and here she edged the first set before sealing victory in a second-set tie-break, albeit only after squandering a chance to serve out the match at 5-4.

It was Cornet's first title since Budapest in 2008. – Sapa-AFP
