Berlin – Roger Federer increased his lead atop the men's tennis rankings issued on Monday by the ATP with little change in the top 10.

Federer has 12,165 points a week ahead of the US Open and is almost 1,000 points clear of Novak Djokovic (11,270) after beating the Serbian in the Cincinnati Masters final on Sunday. Injured Spaniard Rafael Nadal remained third on 8,715.

Juan Manuel del Potro of Argentina moved from ninth to eighth, at the expense of Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic, in the only change in the top 10.
