Melbourne - Agnieszka Radwanska took advantage of cooler conditions in Melbourne to continue her red-hot start to 2013 with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Britain's Heather Watson in the third round of the Australian Open on Friday.

The Pole, who claimed the Auckland and Sydney titles before the year's first grand slam, has now won 12 successive matches in 2013 and hardly seemed pushed against the 20-year-old Briton in their 84-minute clash.

Temperatures had exceeded 40 degrees Celsius at Melbourne Park on Thursday, but a cool front pushed through early on Friday, bringing rain showers that forced a slight delay to the match as the roof was closed on Hisense Arena.

The 23-year-old, who took a medical timeout after the first set to receive treatment for a finger injury, however, was not slowed by the delay and romped to a fourth round clash against either Jelena Jankovic or Ana Ivanovic, both Serbian former world number ones. - Reuters
