Serena retains big lead in rankings

Berlin – Serena Williams continues to top the women's tennis rankings released by the WTA Monday. The 32-year-old American has 12,660 points to retain a large advantage over second-placed Li Na of China who has 7,185.

In the top 10, German Angelique Kerber has dropped three spots from sixth to ninth with Romania's Simona Halep and Jelena Jankovic of Serbia taking advantage. Outside the top 10, Flavia Pennetta of Italy was boosted by her weekend win at Indian Wells to move from 21st to 12th. WTA top 10 as of March 17
