Durban - The world famous Elite Model agency, on a search for new models, signed up Gisele Bündchen wannabes at the Gateway Shopping Centre in Durban to audition for a chance to model on international ramps.
Hundreds of young women turned up for the casting, hoping they met the strict requirements of a perfect body, skin and hair and, of course, the height requirement of being at least 1.74m tall. The finalist has to beat hundreds of other girls countrywide in an international search for new faces.
Casting judge Sandra Tiexeira, of Banda Model Management, which brought the quest to South Africa, said they were having a better casting here than in Cape Town, saying Durban models fit the requirements.
Fellow judge Tiffany Prior, of Ice Models Durban, said requirements were strict because the winner would go on to compete internationally.
