RED Hot Chili Peppers fans now have a chance to secure a ticket because extra seats have been released, with online ticket resales going for up to three times their original price.

“The concert has been sold out since it went on sale in August 2012; however, due to additional production sight lines, a limited number of certain tickets have been made available,” said the show’s public relations firm.

Over 100 000 tickets have been sold for the US funk rock band’s two shows in Joburg and Cape Town. They are to perform at the FNB Stadium tomorrow, before playing at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday.

The new tickets from Computicket include seats with a restricted view at R515, a seat for R400 in a private suite with no amenities, and a ticket in a large shared suite for R600.

Golden circle tickets, at R715 and R665 for the Joburg and Cape Town shows respectively, cost up to R2 000 on online classified sites.

General standing tickets for the Joburg show are advertised at between R600 and R1 000 online. - The Star
