Gauge of good news

For motorists, tomorrow will seem like a return to Christmas. Not only is the petrol price dropping for a second month, but further cuts may be on the way.

In Gauteng the price of 95 octane will fall by 85c a litre and of 93 octane by 89c. Economists predict August’s decrease could be between 90c and 95c.

But, like so many things in life, the petrol price is uncertain. Many things could plunge motorists back into the doldrums. They include a variable exchange rate, the international economic outlook and unpredictable supplies.

So, fill up with a smile while you can.
