MONACO: After an exhausting week cheering on athletes at the Olympic games, Princess Charlene and Prince Albert II of Monaco could relax as they hosted the Red Cross ball in Monaco on Friday night.
The Monegasque royals danced intimately on the lit floor, silencing rumours of the marriage being on the rocks.
Reports surfaced earlier this year of Charlene suffering from depression as the couple struggled to conceive a legitimate heir to the throne.
However, their tender moments on the dance floor spoke a different language as Albert held his beautiful ex-Olympian wife close.
The couple met at the Summer Games 12 years ago, where Charlene Wittstock swam for her native SA.
The rumour of troubles in paradise that emerged this year as a result of Charlene being unable to become pregnant is not the first to surround the royal pair.
Prior to their wedding last July, Charlene was said to have fled to Nice airport two days before the wedding after discovering her husband-to-be had had a third love-child.
According to reports, the “runaway bride” had to be coaxed back by brokering a deal with the “playboy prince” that she provide him with a legitimate heir.
The annual Red Cross ball celebrated its 64th year, and the night was concluded by a DJ set from Boy George. – Daily Mail
